Matt Bergman

Matt Bergman is an active trumpet freelance musician based in New Jersey, performing throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. With an extensive performance history, he has played in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall with countless ensembles such as the Garden State Philharmonic, The Chelsea Symphony, Orchestra Manhattan, and The Rockland Choir Society. Matt has also performed with renowned groups such as The Irish Tenors and Celtic Woman.

Matt earned his Master’s Degree in Orchestral Performance from Mannes College of Music, studying under Vincent Penzarella, New York Philharmonic. In addition, Matt has primarily studied with Robert Earley (Philadelphia Orchestra), Tom Smith (New York Philharmonic), and Tom Hooten (Los Angeles Philharmonic).

As a dedicated educator, Matt utilizes a variety of teaching techniques, tailoring his approach to help students of all ages set and achieve their musical goals. When he’s not performing or teaching, Matt likes to cook, hike, and spend time with his wife, Charlotte, and their two cats, Simba and Delilah.
